Will Clarke

Active in swimming and athletics since the age of 7, Will Clarke became a triathlete at 16. He subsequently built a successful career in short distance triathlon, becoming world and European U23 champion in 2006, and British champion in 2008 and 2009. He also qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, finishing 14th. In 2012, Will was ready for Ironman racing. His goal: to become the first British pro male to win the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. He got off to a good start, wrapping up 2013 with a 10th place in the World Championships Ironman 70.3 in Las Vegas and a second place in the Ironman 70.3 races in St. Croix and Lanzarote. In 2014, he succeeded in finishing second in no less than four 70.3 races: South Africa, San Juan, Barcelona and Calgary. On June 15 2014, Will did even better by winning his first 70.3 title in the Ironman 70.3 UK! If that is not enough, he also won the Ironman 70.3 of Lanzarote that year after an exciting race. Building on his early successes, Will stepped up to the full Ironman distance in 2015 and established himself as a world class long distance athlete ever since. Clarke has gone sub 8 hours three times in his career already with a magical 7h45 finishing time in the Ironman North American Championship in Texas in 2018.
